Take A Trip Back In Time

Built by local Amish craftsmen, this cabin was designed and decorated to reflect an earlier era. Curl up with a cozy indoor fire, or roast marshmallows in the fire pit outside.

Off Grid & Offline

There is no running water or electricity in this cabin, but we have provided a battery pack for lights in the evening. This cabin is also outfitted with a kerosene lamp.

Get Cozy By The Stream

Firewood for heating the cabin is included. Camp firewood is available at an additional cost. We provide a 5 gallon jug of water, a wood stove for heat, atmosphere and cooking. An outdoor bucket shower.

  • We loved our stay at the cabin! It was so peaceful and relaxing, and John was extremely kind and helpful during check-in as well as throughout our stay. The cabin is secluded, quiet, and in such a serene location, we will definitely be back!

  • Staying in the cabin by the stream, was like stepping back in time without any of the hardships. The sound of a horse and buggy going by reinforced the feeling of another simpler time. The cabin was decorated with antiques and quirky memorabilia, my favourite was the ad for pony express riders (“willing to risk death, orphans preferred”). The lounge chair in the screened front porch, overlooking the stream was my favourite place for my morning coffee and a book. Because it is surrounded by trees the cabin stayed nice and cool. A great place for an artist or writer, sadly I am neither.

  • We came here for some rest and relaxation, which is exactly what we got. We enjoyed the antique decor and the inviting feel of the rustic cabin. It had everything we needed for cooking on the nice outdoor bbq or stove. The porch was the best place to be, mosquito free with the view of nature. John and Beth are friendly and welcoming. We had fun interacting with their playful goats. Thank you, John and Beth, for having us! We'll definitely be back. Dont forget to visit the Ontario Water Buffalo Company suggested by Beth. Their gelatos were delicious, and we got to see their buffalos.

  • My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at John’s cabin. It looks exactly like what we expected from the photos. This place makes off grid living easy. The screened in deck is cozy, the cooktops are clean and work really well. The fire pit is in a lovely spot near the front of the cabin. The outhouse is clean, and all amenities were provided. There were additional nice details like the cooking spices and oils and teas, making it easier to pack for our trip.

  • My hubby and I loved our stay at the Cabin on the stream, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and peaceful spot to celebrate our 6th anniversary. We loved the fire pit and outdoor bbq and of course visiting with the goats! The location was close to stirling making it perfect for checking out Healey Falls or going for a round of golf at Oak Hills. John and Beth were wonderful hosts and we can’t wait to come back again hopefully this fall!!
